Oregon WR Traeshon Holden spits in opponent's face vs. Ohio St. (Video)

Traeshon Holden spits at Davison Igbinosun, Ohio State vs. Oregon, 10/12/2024

Oregon Ducks senior wide receiver Traeshon Holden spit in an opposing player's face during Saturday's Big Ten Conference game against Ohio State.

It happened a few minutes into the second quarter as Oregon was driving on offense with Ohio State leading to 14-12. With Oregon having 1st and goal on the Ohio State 9-yard line, running back Jordan James ran the ball while Holden pretended to run a pattern into the end zone. Holden was pushed out of bounds by Buckeyes junior cornerback Davison Igbinosun. Once the play ended, Holden inexplicably proceeded to spit in Igbinosun's face before jogging away.

Igbinosun showed restraint in not retaliating, instead putting his arms up as if to question why Holden would do that. We would ask the same question. Fortunately, the officials saw the spit and gave Holden a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, which was completely deserved. There's no place for that in football, or any sport, at any level.

Holden finished the game with one catch for 32 yards. If it was up to us, he wouldn't see the field again for a long time.
