Tennessee RB Dylan Sampson celebrates TD with 'Thriller' dance vs. Kentucky (Video)

Dylan Sampson Thriller dance, Kentucky vs. Tennessee, 11/2/2024

Tennessee Volunteers junior running back Dylan Sampson celebrated a touchdown with a "Thriller" dance during Saturday's SEC football game against Kentucky.

It happened with 8:28 remaining in the third quarter as Tennessee had 1st and goal on the Kentucky 7-yard line with Kentucky trying to hold on to a 10-7 lead. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava handed off to Sampson up the middle, but there was no hole, so he ran to the left, broke a tackle and found his way into the end zone for a 7-yard touchdown.

After scoring, Sampson went to the back line of the end zone and broke out some classic moves from the famous Michael Jackson "Thriller" video, which seems apropo not only since Halloween was this week, but also since Tennessee went "dark mode" with black uniforms and helmets for this week's game.

It may not be as exciting as a headstand, but it's fun to watch nonetheless and not the least bit inappropriate.

Sampson would go on to score another touchdown in the fourth quarter, which broke the school record with 19 career rushing touchdowns. He finished the game with 141 yards rushing and led Tennessee to a 28-18 win over Kentucky.
