Incarnate Word Cardinals junior wide receiver Jalen Walthall was penalized for his headstand in the end zone after scoring a touchdown in Saturday's FCS Southland Conference game against the Houston Christian Huskies.
It happened a few minutes into the third quarter as Walthall caught a 50-yard touchdown reception from Zach Calzada to give the Cardinals a 37-6 lead. After reaching the end zone, Walthall spun the football like a top, then went into the headstand before gently rolling back onto his feet to celebrate with his teammates.
Flagging this TD celebration by Incarnate Word should be grounds for a suspension (h/t @SickosCommittee) pic.twitter.com/V6dDLyH0at

Walthall was flagged immediately for unsportsmanlike conduct, but that merely means losing 15 yards on the ensuing kickoff. Given the huge lead that Incarnate Word has, that hardly means anything.
Although there is some debate as to whether this TD celebration should have been penalized, we do not object to it. If you are up by a large margin, you should not be rubbing it in. Besides, there is a risk of injuring yourself during the celebration, which is just senseless.
