Utah Jazz power forward John Collins received a flagrant 1 foul call for hitting Los Angeles Lakers power forward Anthony Davis in the groin during Tuesday night's game at the Crypto.com Arena.
It happened at about the 4:45 mark of the third quarter with the Lakers leading the Jazz 77-63. Lakers guard Max Christie had the ball and was being guarded by Collins. As Davis set the screen, Collins tried to sneak in a smack to Davis' groin while maneuvering around him. Davis immediately fell to the ground in obvious pain and curled up in the fetal position.

Collins was called for a foul, but after a replay review, the foul was upgraded to a flagrant 1 due to the contact being significant and "in a dangerous area".
Unfortunately, it is not that uncommon for players to hit opponents in groin while fighting through screens. In this case, Collins did not get away with it.
Davis came out of the game temporarily but returned in the fourth quarter. He finished the game with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists as the Lakers beat the Jazz 124-118. The Lakers improved to 10-4 overall, while the Jazz dropped to 3-11.
