The Nashville Predators were penalized for starting the wrong lineup during Wednesday night's game in Seattle.
The game was stopped 43 seconds after it started. The officials had a discussion and realized that the lineup card for the Predators had Steven Stamkos listed as the starting center instead of Filip Forsberg, who was on the ice for the first minute of the game.

"Nashville has a minor penalty for starting incorrect lineup. Number 91 was supposed to start instead of number 9."
As a result, the Predators were assessed a minor penalty, and the time in the penalty box was served by Philip Tomasino.
We can honestly say we have never seen this before. Looks like we will have to pay more attention to the announcement of the lineup from now on to make sure it matches up with the players on the ice. Kudos to the officials in this game for paying attention. Rules are rules.
The inexplicable mistake was a sign of how the night would go for the Predators as they lost to the Kraken 3-0.
