Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor blew a chance to score a touchdown by dropping the ball before he crossed the goal line during Sunday's game in Denver.
It happened a few minutes into the third quarter with the Colts holding a 13-7 lead. The Colts had 1st and 10 on the Denver 41 yard line. Colts QB Anthony Richardson handed off to Taylor, who ran through the hole on the line of scrimmage and blew past the secondary for a 41-yard touchdown, or so it appeared.
IT HAPPENED AGAIN!

This time it's Jonathan Taylor, erasing a huge Colts TD. 🏈🤦 #NFL pic.twitter.com/VCV1XMaMix https://t.co/AqBZS7sXxL
However, upon video review, it was clear that Taylor dropped the ball to "celebrate" before crossing the plane of the goal line. As the ball landed out of bounds in the end zone, the call was reversed and the play was ruled a touchback. The Broncos offense would get the ball back on the 20-yard line, and Taylor looked really silly.

Amazingly, this was the second time on Sunday that a player blew a scoring opportunity by dropping the ball right before crossing the goal line. It is an inexplicable boneheaded play and teams need to punish these players for being so selfish and careless with the football.
The play by Taylor turned out to be a momentum changer as the Colts did not score for the rest of the game. Meanwhile, the Broncos scored 24 unanswered points to win the game 31-13.
