James Madison Dukes senior tight end Taylor Thompson scored a touchdown and celebrated with a Spider-Man move during Wednesday night's Boca Raton Bowl against Western Kentucky.
It happened with 9:20 remaining in the fourth quarter with the game tied at 17-17. As JMU had 3rd and 8 on the WKU 21-yard line, quarterback Billy Atkins took the shotgun snap and threw to Thompson, who leaped over a defender and snagged it for a 21-yard touchdown. After getting up from the ground, Thompson tapped himself on the head a few times, then ran a few steps, turned, jumped into the air and pretended to shoot spider webbing from his fingers like Spider-Man.

We have seen athletes celebrate with Spider-Man masks before, but that would be tough to do in football. Nothing inappropriate about a Spider-Man celly, as that is unlikely to draw a penalty flag for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The touchdown catch was Thompson's only catch of the game, but it turned out to be the game-winning score as the Dukes held on for the 27-17 victory. What a great way to end your college career.
James Madison finished the season at 9-4, while Western Kentucky finished at 8-6. This was James Madison's first bowl victory.
