Actor and comedian Will Ferrell some holiday cheer to Sunday night's LA Kings game against Philadelphia as he attended the game dressed as Buddy the Elf.
Ferrell played the character in the classic Christmas movie "Elf" back in 2003. We don't know why he decided to dress as Buddy for the Kings game, but it provided for a hilarious moment when television cameras captured him in the front row behind the glass a few minutes into the second period with the game tied at 2-2. This time around, Ferrell appeared to be playing a scraggly version of Buddy, complete with a fake cigarette in his mouth.

Ferrell has provided his share of funny sports moments over the years, including dressing as an usher and escorting Shaquille O'Neal out of the Staples Center. He has also been known to put his own spin on announcing MLB lineups. Ferrell is also co-owner of the LA Galaxy of the MLS, so he has a vested interest in LA sports teams.
Looks like "Buddy" brought some good luck with him as the Kings came from behind in the third period to beat the Flyers 5-4. Does this mean that Ferrell has to wear his elf costume to every game now? May not be practical, but the precedent has been set.
