A C-SPAN viewer called in during coverage of Donald Trump's second Presidential Inauguration ceremony to vent about Alabama being excluded from the 2024-2025 College Football Playoff.
C-SPAN, widely recognized for its political coverage and open platform for viewer opinions, likely did not anticipate a call about the CFP selection process as it aired live coverage of Trump's Presidential inauguration. Yet, that is exactly what happened at 10:53 AM Eastern Standard Time on January 20, 2025, as viewers watched distinguished guests take their seats at the U.S. Capitol for the ceremony.

The viewer complained: "I'm a bit more disappointed in the Selection Committee for not picking Alabama for the College Football Playoff finals and instead picked inferior teams like SMU and Indiana. Truly dark times in America..."
At that point, the caller was cut off, but it was enough to give viewers a good laugh. This is the funniest C-SPAN prank call we have seen since that guy who derailed a discussion with the theme for "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air".
