Watch: Angel Reese Ejected from Unrivaled Game After Heated Dispute Over Foul Call

Angel Reese ejected, Rose vs. Laces, 2/1/2025

In Unrivaled basketball action, Rose's Angel Reese was ejected from Saturday's game against Laces after receiving two technicals for arguing with game officials over a foul call.

It happened with 48.9 seconds left in the second quarter with Rose leading 35-27. Reese was guarding Tiffany Hayes near the three point line. As Hayes tried to dribble past Reese towards the basket, Reese knocked the ball into Hayes' knee and it rolled out of bounds, but the official along the baseline called a foul on Reese. Reese turned her back and waved off the official multiple times, at which point the official called a technical on her.

As Hayes lined up to take the foul shot, Reese stood in front of her while continuing to plead her case. Another official asked Reese to move out of Hayes' way. Reese did, but made a comment to the official which apparently she did not like, as the official gave Reese another technical, leading to her ejection from the game.

From our vantage point, it looked like Reese got all ball with her play on Hayes, so the personal foul seemed to be a judgement call. The first technical on Reese also seemed undeserved, as it seems a little sensitive on the official's part to call a technical on a player for just waving them off. However, Reese has to understand that arguing with the official will get you nowhere. She has to know where to draw the line, as continuing to argue with the officials will only lead to an ejection, as was the case here.

Reese logged only 7 minutes of game action and scored 6 points, but amazingly grabbed 15 rebounds in that short amount of time.

This was the first player ejection in the new Unrivaled league. However, in Reese's absense, the rest of the Rose players picked up the slack and beat the Laces 83-69.
