Fairfield Stags junior guard Deon Perry hit a game-winning 3-pointer from 70 feet away at the buzzer to upset Marist in Thursday's MAAC men's basketball game at the Leo D. Mahoney Arena.
With 1.1 seconds left in regulation and the game tied at 56, Fairfield sophomore guard Michael Rogan inbounded the ball from underneath his own basket. He found Perry, who took one dribble near his own three-point line and took the shot towards the basket at the other end of the court.
Perry got the shot off before the buzzer sounded and hit nothing but net. He was mobbed by teammates and fans.
There's nothing like a long-range buzzer-beater to get everyone out of their seats.
Perry led the Stags in scoring with 19 points off the bench. The win broke a 3-game losing streak for Fairfield. Marist had won 12 of its last 13 games prior to Thursday's loss.
