The Utah Jazz traded forward Drew Eubanks to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, which was unfortunate timing given that Saturday was Eubanks' birthday.
Making things a bit more awkward was the social media post that the Jazz sent out earlier in the day wishing Eubanks a Happy Birthday:
Help us wish Drew Eubanks a very happy birthday 🎂🥳💜#TakeNote pic.twitter.com/Su7n8sXmTI

The timestamp on the social media post was 11:22AM EST. Less than two hours later, at approximately 1:04PM EST, ESPN broke news of the trade with the Clippers sending forward PJ Tucker, center Mo Bamba, a future second-round pick and cash to the Jazz for Eubanks and guard Patty Mills.
Obviously the Jazz Marketing and Communications team was unaware of the move that the Jazz front office was about to make. Still, it comes across as a bad look.
For what it's worth, we hope that Eubanks can celebrate and enjoy his 28th birthday, whether it involves playing a few games or having some cake. We hope things work out for him in L.A.
