Irish pro golfer Shane Lowry accidentally hit a volunteer with a tee shot during Sunday's final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament in California.
It happened on the par-4 15th hole with Lowry positioned in second place at 17-under, three strokes behind tournament leader Rory McIlroy. Lowry made solid contact with the ball, but it faded to the right and missed the fairway. A volunteer was standing on the edge of the grass by himself, and he unfortunatey was hit in the shoulder by the ball. The man fell to the ground in obvious pain.

Now that seems like bad luck, but we have seen several incidents of tee shots hitting fans before, including a ball that landed in a policeman's arm. This incident was more concerning, however, because it was an older gentleman and it came close to hitting him in the head. Fortunately, according to the CBS Sports broadcast crew, the volunteer is OK.
Lowry made par on the hole and finished in second place at 19 under. He was unable to catch McIlroy, but he earned a nice paycheck for the weekend, which should be able to cover any medical bills that the volunteer may need covered.
