Ottawa Senators center Ridly Greig was somehow called for roughing despite being victimized by Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz during Tuesday night's Game 2 of their NHL Eastern Conference first round playoff series at Scotiabank Arena.
It happened about five minutes into the second period with the Maple Leafs leading 2-0. The Senators were controlling the puck inside the Toronto blue line, with Greig positioning himself right in front of Solarz on tehg edge of the crease. Solarz wasn't having it, as he proceeded to cross-check Greig twice in the back, chop him in the leg with his stick, then knock him down to the ice with a shoulder check.

The whistle was blown to stop play at the 5:06 mark. Inexplicably, Greig was given two penalty minutes for roughing despite basically getting his butt kicked by Stolarz. Greig has been on the receiving end of a few cross-checks, but this incident seems completely unfair that he was penalized when he was clearly the victim.
Fortunately, Stolarz did not completely get away with it, as he was penalized for interference, with center Scott Laughton assigned to serve time in the box on his behalf.
